General Laparoscopic, Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgeon
Dr Vincent Lam graduated Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Sydney in 1998 and completed his general surgical training in Sydney in 2005. In 2006-2007, he spent 2 years of post fellowship training in hepatobiliary, pancreatic and transplant surgery. He was awarded the International Clinical and Research Fellowship, NSW Cancer Institute in 2007 and worked as the Asian Surgical Association Clinical Fellow at Queen Mary Hospital in Hong Kong under the mentorship of Professor S.T. Fan and Professor C.M. Lo. This is a renowned centre for liver cancer, live-donor liver transplantation and laparoscopic surgery.
Dr Lam holds Visiting Medical Officer appointments at Norwest Private Hospital, Westmead Private Hospital, Sydney Adventist Hospital and Castle Hill Day Surgery. He is a consultant Hepatobiliary, Pancreatic and Transplant surgeon at Westmead Hospital. He is also a Senior Lecturer in Surgery at the University of Sydney and the current Head of General Surgery at Norwest Private Hospital. He is heavily involved in surgical affairs in Australia and is a current member of Young Fellow Committee, NSW State Committee and NSW & ACT Regional Subcommittee of the Board in General Surgery of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.
Dr Lam has a special interest in laparoscopic surgery of liver, gallbladder, pancreas and spleen as well as the surgical management of liver, pancreas and bile duct cancer aiming to provide the cure with resection or locoreginal therapy. He is fluent in Cantonese language.
